Free, online short courses by King’s

King’s has developed a suite of free, online short courses across a range of disciplines which are available to everyone, including King’s alumni.

These short courses, known as Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs, are designed for unlimited participation via the web. Subjects are taught using conventional methods and other media, including video, and community discussion boards.

By signing up to a course, you can access the materials at your own pace – allowing you to fit studies around your work or family life. You’ll also be joining an international community of learners who are encouraged to communicate and share ideas with each other on online discussion boards.

Studying a short course can be an excellent way to expand your knowledge in a specific area for personal interest or professional advancement. They can be used to boost your CV and demonstrate to potential employers your commitment to self-development.

Some of the current MOOC topics include:

  • Shakespeare: Print and Performance
  • The Internet of Things
  • Medicines Adherence
  • Addictions
