The inaugural Lifeboat Debate 2014

During this lively evening, held for alumni on Tuesday 2 December 2014, leading King’s academics and alumni strove to prove that their discipline deserved the last spot on board our lifeboat. If you've never heard of a Lifeboat Debate, here it is in a nutshell:
- Premise: Civilisation has been destroyed! A few surviving humans (the audience) are leaving a post-apocalyptic society on a lifeboat.
- Clincher: There is only room for one academic discipline on the boat to sail on to a new world.
- Debate: Who deserves the last seat on the fleeing raft?
- Winner: You decide!
Equipped with their survival packs (pictured), the audience witnessed academics and alumni from music, theology, informatics, law and psychiatry battle it out. Not forgetting the devil's advocate who argued that none of them deserved a place on board.
A full write-up will be uploaded in the future but in the mean time, we have photos and a video of the event to share with you! Why not take a look and find out who emerged victorious?
