King's 20 Accelerator Programme

King's 20 Accelerator 2017

Do you dream about launching your own start-up business venture? Do you have an idea that could take the market by storm, but needs some extra support to make it happen?

The King's20 accelerator is a year-long business accelerator programme hosted by the King’s Entrepreneurship Institute, aimed at supporting 20 start-up ventures from King's to reach their potential.

Applicant start-ups can be at any stage of their development, and King’s20 is open to all King's students, staff and alumni who graduated from King’s in the last seven years.

The 2017-2018 programme will run from 3 October 2017 to 29 September 2018, and applications are open from now until 17 June 2017

If you are committed to making the most of the programme and making your idea happen, the King's20 accelerator will help you reach your goals. Just nine months ago, King’s music student David Wexler had a dream to turn his passion for body percussion into a whole new instrument. Now, he has a working prototype and £15,000 in the bank to go ahead and make his dream a reality.

The King’s alumni who formed Moovr were socially conscious entrepreneurs who wanted to make their idea of providing a digital platform to connect rural farmers in Kenya with reliable livestock transportation networks a reality. Today, they are on site in Kenya, testing their SMS app on the ground and making invaluable local connections.

How have these successes been made possible? Successful applicants receive an estimated £30,000 worth of support.

You can split your work on the King’s20 accelerator however you like, you just need to work for a minimum of half a day a week in our collaborative office space at Bush House, and attend eight exclusive events across the year. Our accelerator space is open 7 days a week, and attendance is flexible allowing for lectures, clinics and other work commitments.

The Institute is running a drop-in session at Bush House on Tuesday 23rd May, 2-4pm, head down for your chance to ask any questions about the programme. Alumni are greatly encouraged to register their interest by emailing the Entrepreneurship Institute at
