KCLSU Centenary Celebrations

This academic year King's College London Students’ Union (KCLSU) and the Alumni Office organised a series of celebratory events to mark the centenary of the Students’ Union.

The celebrations begun with a champagne reception and birthday cake on the Strand to mark the official founding date, 4 December 1908. The festivities continued the next evening at the Centenary Phase club night, where over 150 alumni joined students to dance the night away at the classic KCLSU night in Tutus.

Our grandest event, the Centenary Dinner, took place early in February at the magnificent Lincoln’s Inn. 200 guests enjoyed a champagne reception, 4 course meal and raffle in aid of the KCLSU Sports Volunteer Fund. The raffle raised over £2000 for this great volunteering programme.

To round off our celebrations KCLSU invited BBC Radio 4 show Any Questions? to host their show at the Waterloo Campus. Over 350 alumni, students, staff and members of the local community enjoyed a political debate featuring Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
