The Principal’s visit to Hong Kong

Principal's visit to Hong Kong Feb 2009King’s Principal, Professor Rick Trainor visited Hong Kong in February, accompanied by Jennifer Cormack and Matt Ferguson from the King’s Development Team. Since it was the Spring half-term holidays in the UK, the Principal was also joined by his daughter Megan, a Sixth-Form student at Westminster School, London and wife, Professor Marguerite Dupree, a lecturer in Economics and Social History at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

While in Hong Kong, Professor Trainor took the opportunity to meet local alumni and was guest of honour on 17 February 2009 at a Drinks Reception at the American Club hosted by the King’s College London Association (HK Branch). In his speech, Professor Trainor thanked everyone present for their warm welcome and gave a brief update on the College including the new gowns designed by Dame Vivienne Westwood. The alumni members were very excited to learn about the current negotiations to acquire the East wing of neighbouring Somerset House for the Strand Campus.

The Hong Kong Alumni branch also held their AGM to elect a new committee in March.  Visit the Hong Kong page on the King’s website to read more.
