Adam Boulton talk in Washington DC

(from left to right) Angela Crowdy, Sarah Frankland, Adam Boulton and Kay FloydThe Washington DC alumni branch was proud to host a recent event in partnership with the Institute of Strategic Studies at the prestigious Aspen Institute. The event had a very special guest speaker, Sky News Political Editor and King’s College London Council member, Adam Boulton.

Adam had been in Washington since the January inauguration of President Obama. Adam’s assignment was to report on the first 100 days of the new President’s administration. The first 100 days had taken on great significance for the media and the general public and Adam was doing daily reports to the UK.

The event was held on 29 April, which had special significance as Obama had been in office for exactly 100 days. Kay Floyd (War Studies, 2006) from the Institute of Strategic Studies welcomed guests to the event and Washington Branch leader Angela Crowdy gave a background and introduction to our special guest. Sarah Frankland from the Development and Alumni Office made the trip from London to represent the College.

Adam gave a presentation about his time at Sky News and on his “Obama 100” project. Plenty of time was left for a lively discussion and alumni had the opportunity to ask questions to gain Adam’s expert opinion. Lots of subjects were covered from foreign policy to the economy. The event was deemed a great success and we thank all involved for their support.
